Step 1: Crafting the Candle
To get that "so good" scent and a clean burn, follow these core steps:
• Prep the Vessel: Use a wick sticker to secure a cotton wick to the bottom center of your clean glass or ceramic jar.
• Melt the Wax: Use a double boiler (a pot of water with a pouring pitcher inside) to heat your soy wax to about 185°F (85°C).
• Add Fragrance: Once the wax is at 185°F, stir in your fragrance oil gently for two minutes. This ensures the scent "binds" to the wax so it smells great every time you light it.
• The Pour: Let the wax cool to about 135°F (57°C) before pouring it into your jar. This prevents the wax from cracking or shrinking as it sets.
• Set and Trim: Let the candle sit undisturbed for 24 hours. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before its first use.
